You set an entity type during signup. This step fills in the rest of what your tax estimates depend on. Skip it and the numbers still appear — they're just built on defaults that may not be yours.
Confirm your filing status
Open Organization settings and check your filing status and business details. These feed the self-employment tax estimate, so a wrong filing status quietly skews every quarterly number you see.
Add your home office
If you work from home, set your home-office percentage in the Tax center. ExpenseGhost applies it to the right share of rent and utilities on your draft Schedule C, so you're not leaving a real deduction on the table. Not sure which method to use? See simplified vs actual home office.
Tax reminders
By default you'll get an email before each IRS estimated-tax deadline so a quarterly payment never sneaks up. If you'd rather not, you can mute your copy under Account settings.
ExpenseGhost provides tax estimates and tax-ready exports. We are not a tax preparer and do not file returns. Estimates are informational — verify every number with a licensed tax professional before filing.
