Set up ExpenseGhost in one afternoon

Six steps from an empty account to books that keep themselves and a draft Schedule C. Built for freelancers who file one.

This is the freelancer track— sole proprietors who file a Schedule C. You’ll need your online banking login and about half an hour. Work top to bottom; each step builds on the one before it.

  1. 01Create your workspace5 minSign up, name your business, and pick the entity type your Schedule C is built on.
  2. 02Connect your bank and cards3 minLink your business checking and cards through Plaid, then tag what's business vs personal.
  3. 03Set your tax profile3 minConfirm your filing status and home-office details so your tax estimates come out right.
  4. 04Get your receipts in4 minForward receipts by email or drop them on the receipts page; the AI reads and matches them.
  5. 05Clear your review queue5 minConfirm the transactions the AI wasn't sure about; each one teaches it your spending.
  6. 06See your numbers and taxes5 minRead your P&L, watch the tax set-aside, and download a tax-ready packet when it's time to file.
